The Hidden Side of Türkiye
Most photographers travel thousands of miles to take the same postcard photo as everyone else. What happens when you drive 2,000 miles east into the untamed, hidden side of Türkiye?
We are trained to want the postcard. From the sunsets in Istanbul to the hot air balloons in Cappadocia, the tourist trail is beautiful, but it's crowded and visually noisy. To find the soul of this country, we left the crowds behind and pointed our Defender toward the Syrian borderlands. This video isn't an overland travel diary. It’s a visual experiment - a film made from still photographs, using 2.5D parallax animations.
The Technical & Philosophical Mission:
The 2.5D Parallax Effect: Every moving shot in this film is a high-resolution still image, deconstructed and animated to create a surreal illusion of depth.
Central Anatolia & Cappadocia: Moving beyond the curated beauty of the tourist lens.
Karanlık Canyon & The Euphrates: Navigating the physical and psychological 'Scar' of the East.
The Mesopotamian Plains: A final encounter with permanence and history at the ruins of Dara and the gateway of Ishak Pasha.
